What is NDIS funding?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding to Australians with permanent and significant disability. It’s designed to give you choice and control over the supports you receive.
Your NDIS plan is built around your goals, the things you want to achieve in your daily life, at home, at work, and in your community. Funding is allocated to help you reach those goals.

You can choose Montessori Care as your provider at any time. We’ll work with your plan to deliver the supports you need, and help you make the most of your funding.
Understanding your NDIS plan
Your plan is divided into funding categories, here’s what they mean in plain English
Core Supports
Day-to-day supports that help you live independently. This is where most of your funding goes.
- Daily personal activities (showering, dressing, meals)
- Community participation (social outings, activities)
- Transport to appointments and activities
- Consumables (continence, nutrition products)
Capacity Building
Supports that help you build skills and independence over time.
- Therapy services (OT, speech, psychology)
- Behaviour support planning
- Skill development programs
- Support coordination
How funding is used day-to-day
Your NDIS funding is flexible within your plan categories. Here’s how it typically works:
Your plan is approved
The NDIA sets your funding based on your goals and assessed needs.
You choose your providers
You select Montessori Care (and any other providers) to deliver your supports.
Services are delivered
We provide your care and supports according to your plan and preferences.
Funding is claimed
We claim from your NDIS plan for the services delivered, you see everything transparently.
Reports, reviews, and plan alignment
Your NDIS plan is reviewed regularly to make sure it still meets your needs. We help you prepare for reviews and provide the evidence you need.
Progress reports
We provide detailed reports showing how your supports are helping you reach your goals.
Plan reviews
We help you prepare for plan reviews and advocate for the funding you need.
Coordinator collaboration
We work closely with your support coordinator or plan manager.
Funding questions
Our team can explain any part of your plan and help you understand your options.
Other funding pathways
The NDIS isn’t the only option. Depending on your situation, you may also be eligible for:
