Our approach is inspired by the pioneering work of Charles and Colette Assaf, the visionary founders of Montessori Academy Childcare Centres. Their unwavering belief in the Montessori philosophy and its transformative potential for children’s education has laid the foundation for our commitment to extending these principles into the realm of aged care and disability support.
Our story begins with the Montessori Academy, established in 2000 as a high-quality alternative to play-based childcare. Charles and Colette’s dedication to the Montessori approach stemmed from their own personal experience while seeking the best educational childcare for their five children. Captivated by the sense of joy, harmony, and purposeful learning they observed in a Montessori classroom, they knew that this approach was the right choice for their family.
Their passion for Montessori education led them to acquire their children’s Montessori Kindergarten and embark on a mission to make Montessori available to as many children as possible. Today, Montessori Academy manages and operates more than 50 childcare centres across Australia and China, continuing to spread the life-changing impact of Montessori education.
At Montessori Care, we honour the Assafs’ legacy by applying the same Montessori principles to aged care and disability services. Our approach puts the individual at the core of all our services, empowering clients to live independently, safely, and with a sense of purpose.
