NDIS Funding
Empowering Individuals with Disabilities to Achieve their Goals
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is designed to provide funding and support for individuals with disabilities aged between seven and 65 years. With a focus on developing life skills and fostering independence, the NDIS helps people with disabilities achieve their personal goals and live life to the fullest.
To access NDIS funding, follow these steps:
- Check Your Eligibility: Visit the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) website at www.ndis.gov.au or call 1800 800 110 to determine your eligibility for the NDIS.
- Apply for Support: If you’re eligible, you’ll need to apply for support through the NDIA. They will work with you to create a personalised plan that outlines your support needs and goals, both short-term and long-term
- Receive Funding: Once your plan is approved, you’ll be allocated funding based on what is considered reasonable and necessary to achieve your goals.
- Choose Your Plan Management: The NDIS allows you to manage your plan and budget in several ways:
a. Self-Managed: You can take full control of your plan and budget, choosing and managing your support services independently.
b. Plan Manager: You can opt for a plan manager, like Montessori Care, to help you navigate and manage your NDIS funding and support services.
c. NDIA-Managed: The NDIA can manage your plan and budget on your behalf.
d. Combination: Some individuals prefer a combination of self-management and assistance from a plan manager or the NDIA.
