## Understanding your options

SIL and SDA are different types of NDIS funding that often work together.

### Supported Independent Living (SIL)

24/7 support in a shared or individual living arrangement. SIL funding covers the support workers who help you with daily tasks.

- 24/7 on-site support workers
- Help with personal care, meals, and household tasks
- Support to build independence skills
- Shared or individual living options
- Active support model, not just supervision

### Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)

Purpose-built or modified housing for people with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs. SDA funding covers the building itself.

- Accessible design and assistive technology

- Located in established communities
- Can be combined with SIL funding

## What a day looks like

Life in supported accommodation is about living your life, with the right support alongside you.

### Morning Routine

Support with personal care, breakfast, and getting ready for the day, at your pace.

### Daytime Activities

Community access, skill building, employment support, or relaxation at home.

### Social Connection

Shared meals with housemates, community outings, and building friendships.

### Evening & Overnight

Support with dinner, evening routines, and overnight assistance when needed.
