# Support at Home

Government-funded care that helps you stay independent at home, explained simply.

## What is Support at Home?

Support at Home is the Australian Government’s program that funds in-home care for older Australians. It replaced the old Home Care Packages system with something simpler and more flexible.

In plain terms: the government helps pay for support services so you can stay living at home safely, rather than moving into residential care before you need to.

You choose your provider, you choose your services, and you stay in control of your care. Montessori Care is a registered Support at Home provider across NSW.

## What services does it cover?

Support at Home covers a wide range of in-home services. Here’s what’s included:

### Personal Care

Showering, dressing, and grooming are delivered with dignity.

### Domestic Assistance

Cleaning, laundry, and household tasks

### Meal Preparation

Nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs

### Social Support

Companionship, outings, and community access

### Transport

Appointments, shopping, and social activities

### Home Modifications

Safety rails, ramps, and minor repairs

### Nursing & Allied Health

Physio, OT, podiatry, and nursing visits

### Assistive Technology

Equipment and aids to support daily living

## How does funding work?

### Step 1: Get assessed by My Aged Care

Call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 or visit myagedcare.gov.au. They’ll arrange an assessment to understand your needs.

### Step 2: Receive your funding allocation

Based on your assessment, you’ll be allocated a funding level. The new system has 8 classifications based on your needs.

### Step 3: Choose Montessori Care as your provider

You have the right to choose any registered provider. We’ll help you set up your care plan and start services

Already have a package with another provider?

**You can switch to Montessori Care at any time we handle the transfer.**
